The Afterlife Party offers a one of a kind night of paranormal exploration at one of Western Australia's most haunted historical gaols. You'll learn about the Gaol's rich history and reported paranormal activity, before being shown the ropes in paranormal investigation techniques and getting hands-on with professional equipment and communication devices, just like the pros.

To ensure an immersive and authentic experience, ticket numbers are limited to just 12 guests. The investigation will take place in even smaller groups, each led by an experienced paranormal investigator. Every guest will have the opportunity to investigate 3 separate areas of the Gaol, using different equipment and techniques as you attempt to communicate with the spirits that linger there.

The experience includes four and a half hours of actual paranormal investigation time, plus a 30 minute break half-way for photos and refreshments, followed by additonal time to discuss your experiences and Q&A.

Step inside the Newcastle Gaol, a place where stone walls have borne witness to confinement and lives forever altered. Constructed in the mid 1860s to replace earlier lockups at Old Toodyay and Newcastle, the Gaol rose from the ground up, as it was built by convict labour before opening in 1865.

Behind its heavy stone walls, the Gaol houses 8 cells, one of them with a timber-lined security cell fitted with iron bars and leg irons intended for dangerous offenders. This cell imprisoned Aboriginal people who were shackled and chained here well into the 1900s. Many who enter describe an overwhelming heaviness as though anguish has seeped into its walls.

The Gaol closed in the early 1900s, only to take on a new life decades later. From 1929 to 1945, the Dorizzi family made it a home, their sons sleeping in the former cells. Three of those brothers would later die as prisoners of war during World War II. One cell serves as a memorial to them and all local servicemen and women who never returned.
