The National Hotel has a history marked by multiple documented murders, suicides, and tragedy. Among its most chilling stories is that of a former publican who was hanged for murder, and whose presence is still believed to linger within the building.
Guests and staff have reported encounters with an elderly female presence, said to linger near the staircase—some claiming she attempts to push people as they pass. Elsewhere, a male figure is often sensed—watchful, calm, and believed to be connected to the hotel’s past.
Your evening begins with a 2-course dinner (drinks not included), where you will hear the history and accounts that have shaped this location’s reputation.
As the night progresses, you will be guided through an immersive investigation, with guests split into small groups to explore different areas of the hotel.

Located in the heart of Fremantle’s historic West End, The National Hotel is a multi-level heritage building rich in character and history.
The venue features a mix of intimate rooms, narrow corridors, staircases, and upper-level spaces, creating a layered and atmospheric environment for investigation.
A lift is available within the building, however due to its heritage nature, some areas include tight spaces, smaller corridors, and varying layouts which may limit access in certain sections.

This is an indoor event and will proceed as scheduled regardless of weather conditions.
In the case of extreme weather, you will be notified by email if the event is cancelled.
No refunds or transfers will be issued due to weather unless the event is cancelled by us.
What to bring/wear
- Wear warm, comfortable layered clothing
- Sensible, enclosed shoes are essential (no heels or open footwear)
- Warm clothing or layers
- You are welcome to bring a torch/flashlight (lights will be turned off at times during the investigation)

A reasonable level of mobility is recommended, as parts of the investigation may not be accessible for wheelchair users due to confined spaces and structural limitations.

Cancellation Policy
All tickets are non-refundable within 14 days of the event date.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person, provided you notify us in advance with the updated attendee details.
Outside of the 14-day period, refund requests may be considered at our discretion. Booking fees are non-refundable.
Private resale of tickets is not permitted
All ticket resales must be handled directly through us.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered a transfer to another date or a full refund.

This is a guided paranormal investigation, not a standard tour.
Guests may be split into smaller groups throughout the evening.
A 2-course meal is included (drinks not included).
Standard dietary requirements can be catered for—please advise at time of booking.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes prior to start time.
Late arrivals may miss part of the experience.
Drinks are available for purchase throughout the night.
This is a heritage venue—expect low lighting, uneven surfaces, and confined spaces.
Participants must follow all instructions and take part in the opening and closing sessions.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove participants without refund for unsafe or disruptive behaviour.
